Ulanzi VL49 Mini LED Video Light Unboxing
I’ve been looking for a small RGB LED light to use for tabletop photos and video. I decided on the Ulanzi VL49 Mini LED light as it seemed to have all the features I require.
After watching several reviews on YouTube I went ahead and purchased one, so I thought I’d share with you an unboxing of the Ulanzi VL49 video light.
The Box
The light itself is only small, around the same size as a GoPro Max, the box the light is supplied in is not much larger.
The box is finished in matte black. On the top of the box is a full color image of the light along with company branding.
On the side of the box are color icons depicting the key features of the light such as battery capacity, color temperature range and RGB color scale.
Opening The Box
The box is opened by pulling the front leaf and double card tabs. Inside the light is protected by a poly style pouch with adhesive tape. It’s just a simple matter of removing the light from the pouch.
Underneath the light inside the box is a small USB-C charge cable, plus a small silica gel packet to prevent moisture.
Instructions
The VL49 comes with a small set of instructions with schematic diagrams illustrating how the buttons operate the functions of the light.
Overall, the instruction leaflet is well laid out although the print is a little small.
Charging The Lights Battery
It’s worth noting, the light’s battery had zero charge straight out of the box. This is a little unusual for an electronic device. However, once fully charged the light was working perfectly.
Final Thoughts
So there you have it, the latest addition to my action camera lighting kit.
I will be writing and sharing a full review of the Ulanzi VL49 once I have used the light extensively over the coming months. Stay tuned!
