360 VR Video With The Insta360 X3 Action Camera

360 VR video is one of the most immersive ways to view video either through a headset or on a smartphone / tablet.

The new Insta360 X3 action camera with its 5.7K resolution in 360 mode captures fantastic 360 VR video footage as this video shows. 

The video was filmed in November on a cold winter’s day in sunny conditions with little off shore wind. The location is Portsmouth harbor in Hampshire which provides plenty of interesting sites to film in 360 VR.

I use these settings after extensive tests with the Insta360 X3 for producing 360 VR video.

  • Sharpness: Low
  • Bit Rate: High
  • Resolution: 5.7K
  • Frame Rate: 30 frames per second
  • EV: -0.5
  • White Balance: 5600K

Accessories Used For Filming

Quite simply I used  just the Insta360 invisible selfie stick with the X3 for this particular VR video. 

A quality selfie stick is an essential for 360 cameras and Insta360 makes some of the best selfie sticks out there. 

This includes the 3 meter extended selfie stick. I’ll be uploading numerous videos onto YouTube filmed using the 3 meter stick over the coming weeks and months.
