Insta360 Invisible Selfie Stick With X3 360 Action Camera

Regular readers will know I spend a lot of time hiking in forest lands. This article and video shares a recent hike in the forest.

I filmed the hike with the Insta360 invisible selfie stick, plus the X3 360 action camera attached. Have a quick read through this article and then see the results I achieved with this setup by watching the video below.

Although the invisible stick is only 1.26 metres in length it still allows you to create depth and space in 360 degrees. However, if your aim is to film at further distances take a look at the ultra long selfie stick I also use to record 360 video.

Insta360 Invisible Selfie Stick Specification

The stick is made from quality durable materials and weighs only 139 grams.

Fully closed the stick will easily fit into a backpack or day sack. Although it’s a little too large for most pockets at 23.5cm fully closed.

Thread Mounts

The top of the stick has a standard ¼” male thread screw. This allows the Insta360 X3 to screw directly onto the stick without the need for an adapter.

At the base of the invisible selfie stick there is a ¼” thread insert. Having this insert means you can screw the stick onto a tripod or clamp.

Setting The Stick Length

Adjusting the length of the stick is just a matter of pulling the gnarled metal top away from the rest of the stick.

The length of each section is held in place by friction. When extending the stick the movement has a smooth feel to it.

You can set the length of the stick from fully closed to maximum length at 1.26 metres or any length in between.

Stick Handle

I do like the handle on the Insta360 1.2 metre stick. It has a neoprene style covering with a spiral type texture for added grip.

I’ve added a lanyard to the base of my stick for when I’m skiing or hanging the stick over high buildings or mountains.
